THE ARTISTS :: THE WORK :: THE EVENT :: |
|
LEE KRASNOW I have been an artist in one way or another most of my life. More often than not, i express myself spatially through woodworking, and sometimes stone carving. Currently i support myself making extremely precise three dimensional interlocking wooden puzzles. I have been fortunate enough in this endeavor to have received international acclaim for the quality of my workmanship. Whereas woodworking is my profession, drawing is more of a hobby for me. I usually work in pen and ink, and when i use color (rarely) it is usually with watercolor pencils. It has only been in the past three or four years that i have taken my drawing seriously -- before that i wouldn't consider anything that i drew more than a doodle. People frequently tell me that my drawings would make good tattoos. As with my woodworking, my drawings are often quite intricate and precise. Patience is very important to me. I find much of my inspiration in the world of mathematics, and from my favorite artists such as M.C. Escher, Stewart Coffin, and Andy Goldsworthy. 01 :: Merkaba :: Ink On Paper |
